Welcome to ScribeGap. This guide takes you from your very first screen to a finished, ready-to-publish article. It works whether you are on the Starter or the Pro plan, and you do not need any SEO background to follow it. If you can describe what you want to write about, you can use ScribeGap.
Here is the whole thing in one sentence: you pick an idea, check that real people are searching for it, and turn it into a complete draft written in your voice. Let's walk through it.
Step 1: You start in "Write About My Own Ideas"
After you choose your plan, you land in your dashboard on the Write About My Own Ideas tab. Every ScribeGap user starts here, on every plan. It is the fastest way to go from a thought in your head to a real article, and on the Starter plan it is your home base.
One quick thing before you type: at the top of the screen, pick your market (for example United States, United Kingdom, or Bulgaria, or Global). This tells ScribeGap which country and language to pull search data for, so the numbers match your real audience. You do not need to connect a website to use this tab. Your drafts are saved to your account automatically.
Step 2: Check that your idea has an audience
Type your topic into the box, something like "cold brew vs iced coffee," and click Verify Topic. The credit cost is shown right on the button.
In a second or two, ScribeGap tells you whether people are actually searching for it. You will see roughly how many monthly searches there are, how hard it would be to reach page one (a simple Easy, Medium, or Hard rating), and what kind of reader you would be reaching.
Keep an eye out for a small green nudge that sometimes appears. If there is a closely related phrase that means the same thing but gets more searches, ScribeGap suggests you write for that one instead. Same idea, bigger audience, and one click swaps it in. You will also see a few real "People Also Ask" questions you can tap to explore.
This step matters because it saves you from spending time on something nobody is looking for. You get to write knowing there is a real audience waiting.
Step 3: Generate your first draft
Happy with the topic? Click Generate Custom Article. As with every action, the credit cost is shown on the button.
Before it writes, you get a quick setup panel worth a look:
My Writing Style. Pick a persona (like Founder, Hobby Blogger, or Casual Storyteller) and, if you want, paste up to three links to things you have written. ScribeGap studies them to build your voice fingerprint, so your drafts sound like you and not like a generic robot.
Live Google Questions. The real questions people ask about your topic are attached automatically, so your article answers them.
Drafting instructions (optional). Add any extra guidance, like "keep it punchy" or "include a comparison."
Then ScribeGap writes a full, structured article. Alongside it you get an Editorial Brief with the behind-the-scenes details you would normally pay someone to sort out: a suggested web address, a page title, and a search description, all ready for your website. You also get an audit trail, a plain-language list of the choices ScribeGap made and why. Nothing is a black box.
Step 4: Make it yours, then repurpose it
The draft is a strong starting point, and it is yours to shape. You can edit it right in the window, click Rewrite Headline for a fresh title at no cost, or download it as a Word document.
When the article is ready, do not let it live in only one place. Every draft comes with a LinkedIn post written for you, and the superchargers turn it into even more:
X / Threads post, a short punchy version
Video Scripts, a YouTube script plus two short-video scripts
Smart Interlinking, weaving links to your other pages naturally into the text
Custom Edit, where you describe a change in plain words and ScribeGap rewrites it
Each supercharger shows its credit cost on its own button. One article can become a week of content across your channels in a couple of clicks. If a draft ever misses the mark, "Regenerate from scratch" writes a brand-new version for the same topic.
Step 5: Everything lives in "My Saved Drafts"
Every draft you create is saved to the My Saved Drafts tab, available on every plan. Come back any time in the next 30 days to reopen, edit, repurpose, or copy your work. Nothing gets lost.
For many people on the Starter plan, that is the whole loop: have an idea, check it, generate it, polish it, publish it, and repeat whenever you want something new.
On Pro? Let ScribeGap find the work for you
If you are on the Pro plan, you can do something search engines usually keep to themselves: see exactly where your website is winning and where it is leaving traffic on the table.
Click Connect Google Search Console in the top bar. It is a safe, read-only connection, which means ScribeGap can look at your search performance but can never change, post, or delete anything in your Google account, and you can disconnect at any time. One tip: choose the Google account that actually has access to your site's Search Console, since it can be different from the email you use to sign in. Your plan covers one website, so you will pick and lock in the site you want to grow.
Once connected, two more tabs come to life:
Topics You're Missing shows brand-new articles worth writing: real topics your audience is searching for that your site does not cover yet, grouped into neat folders and sorted so the fastest wins float to the top. Each one is ready to generate with a click.
Improve Existing Pages finds pages you already have that are sitting just off the first page of Google. When you draft one, ScribeGap pulls your live page and rewrites it to climb. These are often your quickest wins.
Both pull from your own real data, so the suggestions are specific to your site rather than generic advice. Pro also adds a "Give me new keywords" refresh whenever you want the latest opportunities, and if you try to write about something you already rank for, ScribeGap points you to improving that page instead of competing with yourself.
A quick word on credits
Actions in ScribeGap use credits, and you can always see your balance in the top bar. Every action shows its credit cost right on the button before you commit, so you are never guessing. Your credits refresh with your plan each month, so there is nothing to track by hand.
What to do next
That is it. You now know the whole flow:
Start in Write About My Own Ideas and set your market
Verify a topic
Set your writing style and generate your draft
Polish and repurpose it
Find it all in My Saved Drafts
If you are on Pro, connect Search Console and let Topics You're Missing and Improve Existing Pages hand you a ready-made to-do list.
Pick one idea and try it right now. Your first published article is only a few minutes away.
